![]() ![]() I hoped for over a year it would all go away. So I did what anyone would do with all this bad news – I ignored it. My Doctor told me that Type 2 Diabetes was a progressive disease and that unless I had gastric bypass surgery, there was no cure. Turns out I had NASH (non-alcoholic fatty liver disease) Type 2 Diabetes, Anemia and Hypothyroidism. This wasn't just tired, it was exhaustion. It wasn't until one afternoon when my kids were older that I told them I was going to take a nap and I didn't wake up until the next afternoon that I knew there was something really wrong with me. I would force myself out of bed every morning and get on with the day. I thought I was just a tired mom with too much to do, as the reasons for my cranky and tired self. :0( I tried a few gyms in the past, but unfortunately, it felt like everyone there was dressed like they were looking for a date. Dieting and Weight Watchers never worked for me, because as soon as I lost the weight, it would come right back with a few of it's friends. I've always been overweight as a kid and I became medically obese in my 40s once I had my two wonderful kiddos. A successful workout makes me feel good about exercise and motivates me to work harder. I became a MYzone member to monitor my physical activity. The Group Fitness instructors are the best! They are so friendly and welcoming! Their encouragement and support motivate me to strive to do my best. The classes are adaptable to any ability level. Now, I take several classes a day! My favorite class is Groove, it is a great workout and the music just makes you want to move! Power and Core makes me feel strong and powerful Blast is great for cardio Active, 3D30 and Fight combine both strength and cardio activities and Centergy helps with my flexibility and balance. As my energy level increased, I expanded the number of classes I attended, which has had a positive impact on my stamina and endurance. I started taking classes and my energy level began to increase. My goal was to increase my overall fitness and boost my energy level. Now, I actually enjoy exercising and it has become an integral part of my lifestyle. I found that, in the Group Fitness Classes, at Healthtrax! I didn’t know that I would love the classes as much as I do. I needed an environment that was fun, challenging and sustainable. I used to exercise at home with equipment and videos, but I was not as dedicated or committed as I should have been. I needed to increase my energy level and build stamina and endurance. I like to go hiking and while I was not in terrible shape I didn’t have the energy to go as far as I wanted to go. I joined Healthtrax when I retired to improve my overall fitness. ![]()
